The nominations period for candidates will open February 2 and will close March 2, 2019.

For the upcoming election of the chapter’s Leadership Committee, we are calling for candidates for the following positions:

• Chair
• Vice-Chair
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Three Members-at-Large

Please consider joining our Leadership Committee for a two-year term.   The roles and responsibilities of the above positions are explained here.  Candidates should be members of Democrats Abroad France, US citizens 18 years or older, living in the greater Lyon area. No experience required.

The deadline to declare your candidacy is Saturday, March 2.  To have your name on the ballot, please submit the following information to [email protected].

• your name
• the position that you wish to run for
• a brief statement of your interest - 150 words maximum (See these examples of candidate statements.)

Early voting will be possible electronically and by post. Details on how to vote will be provided with your ballot, which will be distributed electronically on February 9.

AND mark your calendar for Saturday, March 23 when we will hold a meeting where you can meet the candidates, vote in person and be there for the announcement of our election results. Time and place to be announced.

In the US, the 2020 election process is now underway - the primaries and the presidential election will be here before you know it. You can help power the blue wave by joining our team. The 2020 elections promise to be exciting. And, as we saw in 2018, the overseas vote matters!
