No Dictators comes to Göteborg!

Two dozen people -- about half of them members of Democrats Abroad Sweden -- rallied on Saturday in solidarity with the No Kings demonstrations taking place the same day across the US and around the world, in opposition to the anti-democratic tendencies of the Trump administration. Speakers denounced the lawlessness of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the blatant corruption of the administration, and the acquiescence of the Republican Party leadership in Congress. Demonstrators made signs, discussed next steps forward, and were given assistance with requesting their US ballots. Simultaneous rallies took place in Malmö and Stockholm. Organizers noted that this was the first demonstration organized by Democrats Abroad in western Sweden, in at least very many years, and offered their expectations that this will be the first of many to come.
