Dems Abroad Launches Operation Email

DEMOCRATS ABROAD LAUNCHES “OPERATION EMAIL” IN RESPONSE TO TRUMP HOLDING MILLIONS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS HOSTAGE

Following the Postmaster General’s weaponization of mail delivery, Democrats Abroad International Chair Martha McDevitt-Pugh urges voters to request electronic ballots.

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – June 25, 2026 – Postmaster General David Steiner said in a Senate Hearing this week that under its proposed rule, which conforms to President Trump’s Executive Order to restrict voting by mail, the US Postal Service will not deliver mail-in ballots to voters in states that refuse to hand over sensitive voter information.

While this ruling threatens to undermine the integrity of elections in every single state, it has an outsized impact on over 3 million US citizens currently living abroad to vote.

In response to this fundamental challenge to our votes, Democrats Abroad is launching Operation Email, a global voter outreach and voter protection initiative designed to ensure that every eligible overseas voter receives their ballot through the most reliable channel available: electronic ballot delivery.

“Federal law allows overseas voters (UOCAVA voters) to request that their ballots be delivered electronically from every state. Email delivery eliminates dependence on the USPS and effectively curtails the Trump Administration’s efforts to disenfranchise our voters through this loathsome Executive Order,” says DA International Chair Martha McDevitt-Pugh.
