Voting yes on extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits will allow Congress to keep health care costs for millions of U.S. citizens at an affordable level. Every Democrat has already signed the discharge petition that would extend tax credits an additional 3 years. The only thing standing between families and the coverage extension now are House Republicans.
The stakes are enormous: up to 24 million ACA enrollees are facing premium increases averaging 26%, with actual monthly costs projected to rise around 114%. Some recipients have already reported anticipated hikes as high as 3,000%!
