Will the Midterm Elections be Fair?

Discussion and Film
Will the US Midterm Elections be Fair?

That's the big question on all our minds as November 3rd approaches.
At 2:30 PM, Guest speaker Michael Stambolis-Ruhstorfer, Associate Professor (Maître de Conférence) of American studies at Université Toulouse - Jean Jaurès, will discuss the erosion of our voting rights and efforts by Trump and his allies to win the Midterms by hook or by crook - through gerrymandering, threats to eliminate mail-in voting and other tactics that create fear and chaos.

At 3:30 PM, the discussion will be followed by the film Digger,  by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu, starring Tom Cruise in the title role alongside Oscar winner Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Oscar nominee Jesse Plemons. In the film, "The most powerful man in the world embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything." Does this sound familiar?

Voter assistance and refreshments will be available following the presentation.
