Save Our Forests – Demand Corporate Action Now

Earth Day reminds us to celebrate the natural world and recommit to protecting it. This year, make action part of that commitment. One of the largest threats to U.S. public lands in decades is unfolding right in front of us, and today is a powerful moment to take a stand.

On March 31, 2026, the Trump administration announced the largest forced purge of a federal land management agency in U.S. history. The plan targets the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), which manages 193 million acres of public land, an area larger than Texas.

The proposal includes closing all 10 regional offices, eliminating 57 research stations across 31 states, and replacing experienced leadership with political appointees.

These changes would leave vast stretches of forest more vulnerable to wildfire, illegal logging, and environmental degradation.

Outdoor companies have long built their brands on access to public lands. On Earth Day, many highlight sustainability, stewardship, and a love of the outdoors. In 2019, several spoke out forcefully against similar threats. Today, too many remain quiet.

Silence is a position. And on Earth Day, it stands out.

The SaveUSFS campaign, organized by current and former public lands employees, is calling on individuals to push these companies to act - publicly and urgently.

1. Hey @[Brand], it’s Earth Day—the day you celebrate the lands your brand depends on. So why are you silent as they’re dismantled? Trump just ordered the most devastating rollback of the US Forest Service in 121 years. 193 million acres are at risk. Where is your voice?

Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME], and I’m a customer who cares deeply about public lands.

I'm writing to ask [Brand Name] to publicly oppose the Trump administration's dismantling of the US Forest Service.

On March 31, the administration announced the closure of all regional offices, the gutting of 57 research stations, and the relocation of HQ to Utah, a state actively suing to seize federal forests. 16% of the Forest Service workforce is already gone. This is the largest purge of a federal land agency in American history.

Your brand exists because of these forests. Your customers hike, fish, camp, and climb on these 193 million acres. When the outdoor industry speaks, Congress listens. We need your voice right now.
