Film Screening & Discussion: American Revolutionary – The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs

Join us for a special screening of the award-winning documentary American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs, followed by a group discussion about the film and its continuing relevance to today’s social justice movements.
This powerful documentary explores the extraordinary life and ideas of Grace Lee Boggs — a Chinese American philosopher, activist, and writer whose seven decades of work challenged and inspired generations of thinkers and organizers. From her early involvement in the Civil Rights and Black Power movements to her later efforts to reimagine community, democracy, and revolution in Detroit, Boggs’ journey is a testament to the power of reflection, resilience, and transformation.
After the film, we’ll come together to discuss Boggs’ philosophy, her intersections with the Black struggle, and what her example means for activists today.
