A Message to South Dakota Voters

Your vote this fall is important to South Dakota! We have a chance to win key elections this year but we need your help. We have several races where you can make a difference, including supporting Billie Sutton for Governor, Tim Bjorkman for U.S. House, Randy Seiler for Attorney General, as well as other statewide races for constitutional office and the State Legislature. You can see a full list of Democratic candidates for statewide office, and for State Legislature on our site.

Even if you voted from abroad in the past, if you haven't yet requested your ballot this year, you still need to do so to make sure you can vote. Just go to votefromabroad.org, fill in the Federal request form, print, sign and send it in to your local election office here in South Dakota.

On behalf of the South Dakota Democratic Party I thank you for your commitment to voting!

Democratically yours,
Ann Tornberg, Chair of the South Dakota Democratic Party

Your deadlines are coming up. Don't forget:

REGISTER to vote from abroad by Monday, October 22. The registration form will also request your ballot and must be sent by mail. We recommend that you request to have your ballot delivered to you by email, and that you send your registration/request form asap to ensure you have enough time to return your ballot.

REQUEST your overseas absentee ballot by Monday, November 5, 5 pm local time. You may send your request form by email, fax or postal mail. We recommend sending your request form by email, and having your ballot delivered to you by email.

RETURN your ballot by Tuesday, November 6. Your ballot must be mailed and received by Election Day. Mail your voted ballot early enough for it to reach South Dakota before the deadline. We recommend mailing your ballot by Monday, October 8.

All overseas voters may vote in South Dakota state and local elections as well as elections for federal offices (US House and US Senate races).
