American veterans, service members, and military families overseas have the right to vote and we're here to make sure they are supported in doing so. The Democrats Abroad VMF Caucus works every election cycle to reach military-connected Americans abroad, help them register, and get their ballots in on time.

Key Resources

VoteFromAbroad.org — The Democrats Abroad tool for U.S. citizens overseas. Walks you through registration and ballot requests state by state. Best for veterans and civilians living off-base.

FVAP.gov — The official DoD resource for active duty, Guard, Reserve, and their families. If you're on a U.S. military installation, start here. Voting Assistance Officers (VAOs) are also listed on this site.

Both tools help you understand your rights and how to register, request a ballot, and vote under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA).

What success looks like:

  • You submitted your Federal Post Card Application (FPCA)
  • You received your ballot
  • You returned your ballot on time
  • You confirmed with your local election office that it was received and counted
  • You know you'll need to repeat the process next year

Volunteer with Us

Our GOTV outreach works because volunteers show up at VSO meetings, military spouse networks, community events, and one-on-one conversations. If you're connected to the military community overseas, you can make a real difference.

Check out our VMF GOTV Guide — everything you need to know about reaching veterans and military families, both on and off base.
