Buried in that nearly 400-page New York State budget was a provision to legalize reproductive commercial surrogacy. Passed without the opportunity for legislative hearings or public debates, the law came into effect on February 15, 2021. Many countries, such as France,  have banned reproductive surrogacy for many reasons.  The DA Global Women’s Caucus Reproductive Justice Action Team takes this matter seriously and will be organizing a webex soon.
