The nominations and call for candidates period for the 2025 DA France Youth Caucus Elections has now closed. Please find below statements for the candidates standing for election. 

All members of the DA France Youth Caucus will receive a ballot by email on March 1. Online voting will end on March 15 at midnight.

New members are welcome to join and vote — please do so by March 10. You must be a U.S. citizen living overseas and at least 18 years old at the time of the next federal election to join Democrats Abroad, and be living in France to vote in this election (join here: https://www.democratsabroad.org/join), and also be a Youth member of the Global Youth Caucus (join here: https://www.democratsabroad.org/yc).

Candidate Statements 

Candidate(s) for Co-Chair

Richard Gigax

Hello, my name is Richard Gigax, and I am running for co-chair for Democrats Abroad youth caucus in France.

I am originally from Denver, Colorado, and I have been living and working here in Paris for the last 4+ years. I currently work for a large American tech company in regulatory compliance consulting. Before moving to Paris, and after graduating from college with a degree in finance, I worked at the same company in a similar, regulatory role. While in college, I had several experiences that have helped shape the person I am today, including my role as the Director of Finance for my university’s student government, where I organized events related to financial literacy, along with keeping track of the overall budget. In addition to this position, I also engaged in roles both at my residence hall’s student council and in a financial management association, where I learned to engage with people to accomplish tasks, such as outreach management and the creation of student events.

I would like to serve as the co-chair because I truly think that it is all our responsibility to drive forward the ideals that we subscribe to, even during off years, such as LGBT+ rights, reproductive freedoms, environmental protection, and so much more. I believe that I have the right experience to bring people together and continue our vital mission and goals: providing Americans abroad a Democratic voice in our government and elect Democratic candidates by mobilizing the overseas vote.
