DISCUSSION POINTS

PRESIDENT BIDEN SUPPORTS UKRAINE AND THE G7 SUMMIT

More than 100 countries and organizations gathered for a two-day summit in Switzerland dedicated to forging a path forward to end the war in Ukraine. Unfortunately, this has led to some key powers (India, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates, all of whom have meaningful trading relationships with Russia) spurning a joint communique. More than 80 other countries and international organizations committed to; “refraining from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, the principles of sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of all states, including Ukraine, within their internationally recognized borders.”

At the G7 Summit in Italy, President Biden signed a 10-year security agreement with President Zelensky. With this act, he sealed America’s long-term commitment to Ukraine’s future as an independent and sovereign state. The G7 announced a deal to mobilize an extra $50bn (£39bn) of aid to Ukraine using frozen Russian state assets. Further, the President announced an additional $225 million military aid package to the already promised $6 billion long-term military aid package in his European trip.

THE SUPREME COURT - THIS IS WHY THE NEXT PRESIDENT MUST BE A DEMOCRAT

The Supreme Court rulings and behavior make it clear that a change is needed:

  • Overruling bump-stock bans will mean more gun violence, with many fatalities
  • More undeclared “gifts” were received by Clarence Thomas. He refuses to recuse himself from issues involving his wife, demonstrating an apparent conflict of interest.
  • The Alito’s have hung their flags. Recently, in two secret recordings, both husband and wife have spoken about implementing their Christian conservative beliefs on the public.

THE GOP’S WHITEWASHING OF JAN 6 IS NOW COMPLETE

Donald Trump’s return to the scene of the January 6th attack that he instigated was a watershed moment in the whitewashing of his continued failed auto-coup. Republicans in Congress, many of whom three years ago were running for their lives from the mob Trump unleashed, applauded and celebrated his return in ways that highlighted the party’s cultish, authoritarian turn. It marked a papering over of all the internal divisions and past animosities (which tend to arise when a president of your party sends over to the Capitol a mob that is intent on hanging his vice president) to rally together to win in November.

TRUMP - BE AFRAID. STOP HIM - VOTE!

In addition to numerous cases of clear senility, according to NBC News, “Trump has done at least five interviews since his guilty verdict. In all five, he has talked about possible retribution.” To quote Maya Angelou, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”
