I've been a Democrat all my life, even though I have not been active in party politics, other than voting (and a few phone calls to encourage voting in the last presidential election). I've been living abroad for almost 50 years (3 years in Switzerland, the rest in Italy) and haven't been as active in American politics as I would have liked to be. I'm a professional musician (a singer of renaissance and baroque music, a singing teacher at 2 theater schools), and I'm very interested in government support of the arts. I'm also very concerned about the environment, civil rights, foreign policy--all topics which concern all Democrats. This would be my first experience at a convention, but I figure it's never too late to get involved!
