2024 Conventions


Democrats Abroad will be holding four conventions as part of the selection process for the Democratic presidential candidate: the Americas Regional Convention, the Asia Pacific Regional Convention, the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) Regional Convention, and the Global Convention. There will be elections and platform decisions made at the conventions.

Democrats Abroad sends 21 delegates to the 2024 Democratic National Convention. DA will be electing 13 of these during the 2024 DA Conventions.

Americas Regional Convention

May 30 in Costa Rica (in-person) and online - RSVP here.

During the Americas Regional Convention, the qualified electors will be electing 1 DNC member, 2 at-large delegates, and 2 DA platform committee members. In addition, there will be discussion platform issues to take to the global convention.

Asia Pacific Regional Convention

May 25 online - RSVP here.

During the Asia Pacific Regional Convention, the qualified electors will be electing 1 DNC member, 1 at-large delegate, and 2 DA platform committee members. In addition, there will be discussion platform issues to take to the global convention.

During the EMEA Regional Convention, the qualified electors will be electing 1 DNC member, 6 at-large delegates, and 2 DA platform committee members. In addition, there will be discussion platform issues to take to the global convention.

May 31-June 1 in Costa Rica and online - RSVP here.

During the Global Convention, the qualified electors will be electing 3 DNC member, 3 at-large delegates, 1 PLEO* delegate, and 1 alternate. In addition, they will vote on the platform issues to submit to the Democratic National Convention.   (* Party Leaders and Elected Officials)
