Candidate statement:
Being born in the rust-belt, in 1943 provided a diverse, colourful background. We often had refugees living in my childhood home; several languages were spoken at the dinner table.
I have been an advocate for enlightened, liberal ideas and inventive methods in my profession. Collaborating with people has been a part of my professional life, both as a speech pathologist and a ski instructor. Both jobs require sharpened communication skills.
My DA involvement started in 2005 when I attended the DA Global meeting in Toronto; I found a home with like-minded Americans. For 20 years I have volunteered actively in Democrats Abroad to mobilise the vote in Norway and globally. I am presently serving as Chair in Norway and have worked on the Steering Committees of the Global Women’s Caucus, the Black Caucus, and the Ohio River-Valley State Team.
In my personal life I’m a wife, mother, and happy grandmother.
