A Peoria, Illinois, voter, Elizabeth Voss has become a committed leader within Democrats Abroad. She first joined the organization in 2017 while living outside of Basel, Switzerland following the victory of former president Donald Trump. “We are facing yet another ‘most important election of our lives,’ and I want to be sure I do everything I can to help as many democrats win up and down the ballot, all across the U.S.”
Voss believes strongly in DA’s mission, and connects deeply with the organization's community. Within the community she has discovered a group who shares her values and makes her feel more at home while living abroad. She now works to ensure Democrats triumph up and down the ballot in November all across the U.S., and that our country avoids another Trump presidency.
Voss, who now serves as a DNC Delegate for DA, feels honored and privileged to have the opportunity to cast her vote at this year’s DNC in her home state. She will utilize her opportunity at the convention to inform other delegates about the essential work DA has carried out as well as how essential www.votefromabroad.org has been as a resource for citizens living abroad.
She is also committed to attending as many events as possible at the convention, where she plans to inform others of the importance of DA within the party as well as gain vital information and ideas to bolster membership and DA support in the months leading up to the election.
To get out the vote and grow support for presumptive nominee Kamala Harris, Voss and her team will continue doing media outreach as well as connect with media from her hometown in Illinois. Additionally, the Basel chapter of DA Switzerland will run ads on buses and trams in the second half of August. Voss and her team will also organize as many voter registration events as possible utilizing creative techniques such as Olympic viewing parties.
