Candidate statement:

My name is Aaron Endré and I'm excited to run as a Democrats Abroad DNC Member this year. I was born in Michigan and raised in Indiana and Florida before ultimately making a home in San Francisco, California, where I lived from 2009 until I moved to Amsterdam in 2020. As a gay child of a Venezuelan immigrant father and a disabled mother, I have always been acutely aware of the many issues that face vulnerable populations, from immigration to healthcare to civil rights — and I have always been motivated by the pursuit of fairness, justice, and equality.

My passion for politics began early, when I competed in state speech and debate championships for my high school. In college, I was president of the LGBTQ+ student group and hosted speakers and events to raise awareness related to trans issues, HIV/AIDS, marriage equality, worker's rights, and more. It was also during this time in 2008, when I worked for Obama's first presidential campaign and my love of political advocacy really took shape. In 2012, I helped organize a nationwide ""Yard Sale for Obama"" fundraiser, complete with a bobblehead sent into orbit, which drew international headlines. Since then, I have passionately advocated for every Democratic presidential campaign, winning every district in which I worked (most recently Michigan-3 in 2022, which flipped blue for the first time in a generation). While I lived in San Francisco, I was extremely involved in local politics, organizing, fundraising, and charitable events.

My career is also closely related to Democratic politics. In 2013, I founded Endré Communications, a digital marketing firm dedicated to helping early-stage climate technology startups. I regularly work with the media to ensure that emerging technologies with potential large-scale climate impact get noticed, and therefore can attract investment to scale up. My mission is to help grow these tech startups so that we can reduce our global CO2 footprint. In 2020, I expanded to Amsterdam to help European climate startups scale internationally (particularly within the U.S.)

We know that this year's election will be the most consequential of our lives. With so many issues facing Americans and the world, we cannot afford to lose this election. I want to ensure that Democrats succeed and I'm eager to help our party and President solve these challenges in any way I can.
