| I immigrated to the USA as a young adult and worked my way through law school. I practised law in California while bringing up my son as a single mother. After forty plus years, with my son established in a career in New York City, I retired to Spain. I remain grateful to the USA for the generosity with which I have always been treated as an immigrant, and for the opportunity to establish myself in a respected and well paid profession. Now, living as I currently do in a country (Spain) with a high level of social cohesion and social services, I feel concerned to observe the growing divisions and increasing anxiety in my adopted country (the USA). I would be grateful for the opportunity to use my experience and time, through the Democratic party, in service of my fellow Americans. |
