Candidate statement: |
As a lifelong democrat, I have actively developed community ties and participated in civil rights and anti-war movements in New York, Florida, Selma, California and developing countries. I have always engaged in progressive public policies especially environment, public health, social and economic issues, with current emphasis on the Amazon forest and the strengthening of indigenous peoples. I fully agree with and practice the DA diversity plan. I graduated from Long Beach (NY) high school, received a bachelor’s degree in Brazil, a master’s in economics at Gainesville and a doctorate at Cornell, 50 years ago. I have been a Democrats Abroad-Brazil member for 12 years and am currently DPCA Voting Representative, having joined the Black Caucus. I continue to work with DA to re-elect Joe Biden, increasing his votes from abroad, to continue to lead the Senate and win back the House. |
