Candidate statement:
I’m running because of my progressive values, class conscious politics, and professional experience. I was born and raised in Indiana and like many of my generation, my formative memories of the financial crisis and witnessing economic injustices in my community shaped my political awakening. My foray into politics came in 2008 when I volunteered for the Obama campaign as an idealistic 18-year-old. After college, I moved to the UK to pursue a Master’s in Human Rights at the London School of Economics. Since then, I have worked in the UK Parliament, for a global women’s rights organization, and currently for Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs. I would be honored for the opportunity to go back home to the Midwest and represent our party’s values at the DNC.
