The U.S. Administration continues to escalate its attacks on democratic norms: undermining civil rights and social protections, manipulating voting rules for political gain, threatening free speech, targeting vulnerable communities, upending the international rule of law, and concentrating power at the top.
On Saturday, October 17, people in Victoria — together with concerned locals and citizens from around the world — will once again join in a coordinated day of action to say loud and clear:
No Tyrants. The power belongs to the people.
Democrat Abroad members and friends are invited to grab some coffee and assemble at Good Earth Coffee on Superior Street at 8:30am. We’ll discuss the challenge of authoritarianism, how we can strengthen voter turnout, and encourage EARLY VOTING among US citizens living abroad.
At 9:45 AM those interested are invited to walk to the nearby No Tyrants rally (organized separately in solidarity with No Kings) in front of the Legislative Assembly Building, 501 Belleville Street at 10am.
Please note: The rally is not organized or co-sponsored by Democrats Abroad. Democrats Abroad guidelines ask that if we identify ourselves as members of Democrats Abroad, that we carry respectful ‘No Tyrants’ rather than ’No Kings’
