“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,” Declaration of Independence.

 

While I have never served on a board I do have a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and was Class President and President of my society while I was in undergrad. I understand that importance of keeping people as informed as possible while balancing having to answer to people above me. It is my belief that the purpose of a board is fulfil the mission of the party, and to keep the people abroad informed of what is happening in America. That we can be prepared and mobilize when necessary. If I am elected to the board, I want to be a voice of reason. I want to keep people informed while maintaining the mission of the Democratic Party. But I also want to do my best to explain why decisions are made. While 100% transparency can never be guaranteed. The best way to keep people aware is to explain why issues can impact them personally. At the end of the day We are all American, even if we have different ideas on how change needs to happen, change needs to happen. Governing bodies are formed to secure and protect the rights of the people. And I hope to be a part of that process.
