AP Regional Vice Chair Candidate Forum

Like all good election committees, we are determined to ensure that the election for the Asia Pacific Regional Vice Chair (RVC) is transparent and inclusive.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that a virtual candidate forum will be held on
May 24th at 3am US Eastern Time (exact time subject to confirmation). Here, candidates will share more about their motivations for running, discuss the most pressing issues facing the AP region, and answer your questions. After the main forum, you will have the opportunity to engage in further discussion with individual candidates in breakout rooms.

When it comes to the election itself, only country committee Chairs and Vice Chairs will be given a vote. But that doesn’t mean they don’t want or need your input. By attending this forum, and relaying your reflections to your country committee’s officers, you can ensure that the direction of Democrats Abroad is one you’re proud to stand behind.

Please confirm your attendance below. The Webex link to access the forum will be shared with all confirmed attendees closer to the day. If you can’t make the event itself, a recording will be made available to all members in the AP region shortly afterwards.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the success of the forum is dependent on us having a large slate of strong candidates available. If you would like to run for the position of Regional Vice Chair, we are accepting nominations until May 16th; to file your candidacy, or nominate another individual, please complete this form.

Democratically yours,

The 2025 APAC RVC Nominations & Elections Committee (NEC)

Adnan Ahmed (DA New Zealand)
Erika Victor (DA Cambodia, non-CC)

Rohan Sarma (DA Lion City)
Tara Hardiman (DA Australia)
