Let's Get To Work!
Our Pride Month Teach-In will focus on a wide range of political issues important to the LGBTQ+ community, with several special guests. Learn about the politics of "Don't Say Gay" in Florida, what the destitution of Roe will mean for our community, strategies for responding to culture war attacks on the community, and much much more.
Join the LGBTQ+ Caucus and the Youth Caucus for an open and free-wheeling Intergenerational Dialogue. Panelists from both caucuses will talk about their histories--of coming out, of oppression, of struggle--and we'll compare notes about life for LGBTQ+ people in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and in the new millennium. We'll also discuss how the issues confronting our community and the language we use to describe ourselves and our lives have changed and evolved over time.
Roe v Wade has been overturned - Democrats Abroad fights back! The US Supreme Court has just overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v Wade ruling that established a right to an abortion under certain conditions.Millions of people have lost their reproductive rights overnight, thanks to the votes of nine extremist SCOTUS judges. This is an outrageous attack on women and LGBTI people, and emboldened conservatives will use this victory to restrict the rights of all US citizens.Join us Friday night to rally against bigotry and demand abortion rights everywhere, safe, free and on demand!Democrats Abroad Queensland supports this action organised by Children by Choice, Cheek Media, One Woman Project and March4Justice! Look for our banner "Bans Off Our Bodies!"
