Trump-free 250 on July 3rd in Amsterdam

Democrats Abroad Netherlands is not officially affiliated with Indivisible Netherlands. We are cross-promoting this event to our members for visibility.

Together with Comité Trumpvrij, Indivisible Netherlands is organizing a fun event on Museumplein, across from the US Consulate, to celebrate America’s 250th.

Beyond the classic burgers for the 4th of July, grilled chicken is also a staple of an American summer cook out. So during Trump-free 250, we’re bringing the chicken – a six-meter tall inflatable one.

US filmmaker and artist Taran Singh Brar, behind the viral inflatable ‘Trump Chicken’ installation outside the White House in 2017, will be making the Dutch debut of his latest piece: “Shitshow Don”, complete with a typical Trump toupee inspired by the American president’s affinity for AI slop and geopolitical messes.

Brar’s first piece, “Felon Don" was previously displayed on the National Mall in Washington, DC and went on a small Euro tour last summer, including in front of the UN headquarters in Geneva.

Trump-free 250 will focus first and foremost on community with each other, and celebrate the good in American history, culture, and people. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for mutual aid organizations in the United States, in the form of a traditional American bake sale.

What’s more American than processed sugar, satire, and free speech? The chicken takes flight from 14:00, and the rest of the program starts at 17:00.
