Candidate Announcement for Asia Pacific Regional Vice Chair


With the election for Asia Pacific Regional Vice Chair (RVC) of Democrats Abroad coming up on June 8th, the Nominations and Elections Committee is happy to announce the finalized list of candidates for the position. To be certified as a candidate, individuals had to submit a completed candidate portfolio, prove their citizenship to the NEC, and have been a member of Democrats Abroad since Dec 8th, 2024 - six (6) months prior to the election. All of these had to be completed by 11:59pm UTC+4:30 on Friday, May 16th.

The finalized list of candidates, with their candidate profiles linked, are listed below in alphabetical order by surname. Further nominations for candidates, including self-nominations, will be entertained at the Asia Pacific regional AGM on June 8th, but no earlier.

Throughout the nomination process, the NEC was committed to ensuring that all candidates were given a fair opportunity to be qualified for candidacy. If you, or someone you know, filed for candidacy and is not listed here, it means that the NEC was unable to attain the necessary documentation to approve their candidacy, or they failed to meet one of the criteria. You are welcome to email the NEC ([email protected]) if you have any questions with regards to why a candidate was not certified.
