FOUNDATIONS OF RESILIENCE BALANCING COMMUNITY CARE & SELF-CARE

The current events landscape is particularly challenging for politically engaged people. A lot of us are struggling with information overload, risk of burnout, and general apathy when it comes to functioning in this political climate. How does one cope with the stresses of this environment and still effectively work toward justice?

Dr. Tammy Bosler of Safe Spaces Yoga has created a stress management program for DA’s members and volunteers: 5 weekly sessions starting on October 7th from 6 to 7:30 pm, intended to introduce participants to the foundations of stress management and mindfulness, applied to the situation of political action.

Each session is $15 or you can save and get a "season pass" for all 5 sessions for $65.

More about Dr. Bosler:

Dr. Bosler has over 25 years of teaching experience in Yoga from the Viniyoga tradition, which emphasizes inclusive applications of traditional Yoga techniques. In addition to this, she holds at PhD in physics, and was a AAAS policy fellow with the National Science Foundation. She is an active member of DA Germany, NCB chapter, and is focusing her work recently on challenging norms of ‘self-care’, which tend to place the onus of resilience on the individual over the systems that reinforce exploitation. We work together or not at all.
