Election Day is November 5, only 46 days away. There is so much for all of us to do right now, starting with registering, requesting your ballot, and voting. Please don’t delay!

By law, all states must make ballots for federal elections available to registered voters by email 45 days before Election Day. This year ballots should be sent out to you on Saturday, September 21. Because that day is on the weekend, if you are registered, you may not receive your ballot by email until Monday, September 23. If you have not received your ballot contact your Local Election Official (LEO), whom you can find at votefromabroad.org.

Even if you are a registered voter, the regulations state you must submit a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) annually.  So go to votefromabroad.org to register and request your ballot at the same time. Because each state’s voting rules differ, you’ll need to find your state’s rules and submission deadlines and the local election office to which you will submit your FPCA application and ballot at votefromabroad.org. Most states allow you to apply for an absentee ballot by email, and receive your ballot by email. You can find a quick reference guide to state regulations here:

If you have any questions or problems with registering or voting, votefromabroad.org has wonderful online voter assistance resources to help you, including regular live chats and Zoom Rooms with trained voter assistance specialists as well as one-on-one, real-time help here:

You can also Request an appointment for voter help (google.com)

And please sign up to volunteer for Democrats Abroad's get-out-the-vote and voter assistance efforts. It’s fun and you’ll get to meet and work with wonderful, dedicated people who share your values.

Overseas voters provided the margin of victory in the recent U.S. Senate races in Georgia and the attorney general’s race in Arizona. But typically only a small percentage of eligible Americans overseas actually vote. We can and must do much better if we are to prevail, hold on to the presidency, our razor-thin Senate majority, and retake the House. We can be the margin of victory.
