The FWAB or the Back-Up Ballot is an important safeguard for overseas voters if their official absentee ballot doesn't arrive in time to be returned by their state's deadline.
With ongoing concerns about mail delivery and changes that could make voting by mail more challenging, it's more important than ever to understand when and how to use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB).
Join us on Friday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. BST for a practical training session covering:
When a voter should use a FWAB.
How to complete and submit a FWAB correctly.
How to help overseas voters understand their options if they're worried their ballot won't arrive in time.
This training is ideal for volunteers who phonebank, take part in voter registration drives, or assist overseas voters with absentee voting. We strongly recommend completing one of our standard Voter Registration Trainingsessions first. Those sessions, held every Monday in August at 7:30 p.m., cover how to help voters register and request their absentee ballots. Once you're comfortable with that process, this training will give you the knowledge to help voters use the FWAB as a back-up option when needed.
Whether you're supporting other voters or simply want to understand your own voting options, we'd love to have you join us.
