Take action and build community across the UK on International Voter Registration Day (IVRD)
The midterms start January 1 for voters abroad. Why is that? Because that is the first day you can apply for your ballot. This will ensure you get all the ballots for the year - the primaries, special elections, and the general election on November 3, 2026.
Voters who live overseas have to request their ballot EVERY year. If you want to make sure your ballot is protected and arrives on time to get counted for November, make applying for your ballot one of your top New Year’s resolutions.
International Voter Registration Day is on January 15. You can apply for your ballot alone from home, but why not join others to do it and build communities of action at the same time?
This year, DAUK is hosting in-person events all around the country for this purpose. Events are currently scheduled in Brighton/Sussex, Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Oxford, Scotland, and Yorkshire, with events being added all the time. Check out the DAUK Events Page.
Can’t travel to an event? Then join us on Zoom! We will gather virtually on Thursday, January 15, from 6 to 8 pm for International Voter Registration Day.
Through our collective action, we can highlight the need to apply for your ballot every election cycle and feel the power of our community by doing this together. This will raise awareness of the breadth of the efforts to get out the abroad vote in all corners of the country, highlight the fact that abroad votes count, and provide the margin of victory in close races - and thereby reach more Americans Abroad to make sure they vote!
