Online Panel Discussion - Under Fire: The Fight for LGBTQ+ Rights in America

Join Democrats Abroad UK in collaboration with the Global LGBTQ+ Caucus for Under Fire: The Fight for LGBTQ+ Rights in America, an online panel discussion with representatives from LGBTQ+ organizations across America.

Panel Overview:

This panel discussion examines the evolving landscape of LGBTQ+ rights in the United States amid a significant increase in legislative challenges across the country. Hundreds of bills affecting LGBTQ+ protections have been introduced in state legislatures, with potential implications for healthcare access, freedom of expression, and the rights of students and educators. Against this backdrop, LGBTQ+ organizations and advocates are working to defend existing protections, support affected communities, and shape the national conversation. Our panel will bring together representatives from LGBTQ+ organizations across the U.S. to discuss the current challenges facing LGBTQ+ communities, highlight advocacy and organizing strategies, consider where LGBTQ+ issues feature in the upcoming midterm elections, and explore what these developments may mean for the future of equality and democracy in the United States.
