If you experienced any issues voting in Georgia in 2018, Democrats Abroad and Fair Fight Action want to hear from you by June 15.
Fair Fight Action, a voting rights organization founded by Stacey Abrams, is collecting affidavits from voters to include in their lawsuit challenging Georgia's election system.
This federal civil rights lawsuit is against the Georgia Secretary of State and State Board of Elections, after voters faced problems in 2018 including absentee ballots that weren’t received or weren’t counted, missing or erroneous voter registration records, as well as long waits in person, malfunctioning voting machines and poorly trained poll workers. The suit demands reform across the entire electoral process, from registration to absentee ballots to oversight of local Boards of Elections.
Democrats Abroad is working to ensure that we are all able to successfully exercise our voting rights in 2020, and supporting this lawsuit is a critical step in this process. We know that overseas voters faced issues in Georgia, and we want to be sure these stories are heard, to put a human face on voter suppression and serve as key pieces of evidence.
To share your story of voting (or trying to vote) in Georgia or if you have any questions, please email [email protected] as soon as possible. Fair Fight Action must have all affidavits complete by June 15.
