Local authorities continue to monitor and respond to fires across southern France, particularly near Bordeaux. In some areas, evacuation orders are in effect and authorities have established facilities to receive people who have been evacuated due to the wildfires. All are urged to avoid unnecessary travel to facilitate the work of emergency services.
ACTIONS TO TAKE:
- In case of fire, immediately call 112 (emergencies), 18 (firefighters), or 114 (for hard of hearing).
- Follow instructions provided by local authorities.
- Monitor Radio ICI and FR-ALERT for updates.
- Check your phone settings to enable Wireless Emergency Alerts (including Play Sound and Location Services) for alerts targeting your geographic area.

Recommendations:
- Monitor media and local resources for updated information. The following French media sources are available in English:
- Promptly follow all official instructions at all times. This may include sheltering in place, evacuating, or other directions.
- Make contingency plans in case you need to leave, or your group gets separated.
- Have an evacuation kit prepared with water, food, medications and important documents like passports.
- Have evacuation plans that do not rely on government assistance and consider road closures or disruptions to public transportation.
- Once safe, notify friends and family of your safety.
