Call for Nominations: Democrats Abroad Israel 2025 Election
During the Election Meeting and Annual General Meeting on Sunday, 2 March, 2025, we will hold general elections for the Executive Committee. This is a regular election and all positions are open. The elections will take place online with both early and real-time voting. Please also refer to the DA-IL bylaws for more information.
Description of the DA Israel Executive Committee elected positions:
Responsibilities of the Chair
The Chair shall be the chief executive officer of the organization, shall call and
preside at all meetings of members and of the Executive Committee, establish
the agenda of such meetings, and shall be responsible for carrying out the
programs, policies, and activities approved by the organization. The Chair shall
be responsible for ensuring the organization is in compliance with host- country
laws and regulations. The Chair shall sit ex-officio on all committees and
subcommittees of the organization, including Standing Committees, with full
voting privileges. Decisions or actions taken by the Chair may be overruled by
a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the Executive Committee. The Chair is a DPCA
Voting Representative as defined in Article V herein.
Executive Vice Chair
The Executive Vice Chair shall be selected at the AGM in accordance with Section 4.2 of the DA-IL bylaws. The Executive Vice Chair, along with the Chair, will be a DPCA Voting Member. The identity of the Executive Vice Chair shall be provided to DA International by the Chair within 15 days of the date of election of the Executive Committee. In the absence of the Chair, the Executive Vice Chair shall call and preside at meetings of members and of the Executive Committee. The Vice Chair may have such other duties as the Chair shall define.
Secretary/Vice Chair for Membership
The Secretary/Vice Chair for Membership shall maintain a current list of members of the organization, keep the minutes of all meetings, and all files and administrative records of the organization. The minutes of all meetings shall be made available to all DA-IL members without undue delay. In addition, the Secretary/Vice Chair of Membership shall provide periodic membership reports to DPCA as required.
Treasurer/Vice Chair for Finance
The Treasurer/Vice Chair for Finance shall manage the finances of the organization, maintain its financial reports to members, and make and maintain such financial reports as may be required by law. All such records shall be available for review and comment by DA-IL members. The Treasurer/Vice Chair of Finance shall consult with the International Treasurer of Democrats Abroad from time to time on matters concerning the maintenance of financial records and financial reporting (notably to the United States Federal Election
Commission). The Treasurer/Vice Chair of Finance shall maintain the minutes of such committee. The Treasurer/Vice Chair for Finance shall sit on the audit committee of the Amuta.
Counsel/Vice Chair for Legal
The Counsel/Vice Chair for Legal shall be available for consultation by the Executive Committee and its officers on legal and procedural questions relating to DA-IL and its activities. The Counsel/Vice Chair for Legal shall consult with the International Counsel from time to time on emergent matters, including notably questions on voting issues and financial record keeping. The Counsel/Vice Chair of Legal shall chair the Bylaws and Legal Committee and maintain the minutes of such committee.
Vice Chair for Social Media
The Vice Chair for Social Media shall participate in the work of the Executive Committee to support the organization by guiding Social Media outreach and engagement and such social media projects and activities as needed for the
effective functioning of DA-IL. The Vice Chair for Social Media shall chair the Social Media Committee and maintain the minutes of such committee.
Vice Chair for Media Relations and Policy
The Vice Chair for Media Relations and Policy shall participate in the work of the Executive Committee to support the organization by chairing the Media Relations Committee and the Policy platform committee of DA-IL and shall maintain the minutes of such committee.
Vice Chair for Get Out the Vote
The Vice Chair for Get Out the Vote shall participate in the work of the Executive Committee to support the organization by chairing the Voter Registration Committee and directing voter registration-related activities of DA-IL. The Vice Chair for Get Out the Vote shall maintain the minutes of such committee.
Vice Chair for Fundraising
The Vice Chair for Fundraising shall participate in the work of the Executive Committee foundations, party agencies and engaging in such projects as needed to ensure adequate monetary funds as needed for the effective functioning of DA
Israel. The Fundraising Vice shall maintain adequate records of fundraising activities and shall make periodic reports to the Executive Committee.
Members At-Large
The Members-At-Large shall participate in the work of the Executive Committee to support the organization by engaging in such projects and committees as needed for the effective functioning of DA-IL. Regular attendance at Executive Committee meetings
is expected, barring any conflicts that cause excused absences. The Executive Committee shall from time to time authorize the At Large Member's tasks, and reflect such resolution in the minutes of DA-IL.
DPCA Voting Representative(s)
DPCA Voting Representative/sand DPCA non-voting representative/s will be selected from among the duly elected DA IL Executive Committee as elected at the Annual General Meeting.
