Honesty For Ohio Education

Some Near Term Moves and a Lawsuit Still Going On

If Education is your thing, that is if you're worried the think-not-only-spoil crowd may succeed in privatizing public education, then Jan Resseger's blog is a go-to. There are others, which she regularly draws from. Jan is a retired educator. Ergo, her posts are longer that what you may have become used to reading on your cell phone. But she's solid and so are her sources.

This Resseger post -- on Honesty for Ohio Education's "Voucher Accountability Project" -- lays out one of the many very serious efforts to roll back the cash give-away from public coffers to private schools. At present, those schools aren't even held accountable to Ohio's education standards, although there's a bi-partisan move just filed to rein that one in, too. And, at the same time, over 300 Ohio school districts have gone together in a class action suit, "Vouchers Hurt Ohio,"  against the state education funding policy.

If you want to know what to read to keep up, try Resseger's blog or either/both of the two activist orgs for a good start.
