Bi-Partisan Bill to Help Ohio Families and Businesses

Finally, a joint effort that makes sense for millions of Ohio workers and their families and attracts qualified workers for Ohio businesses! Reps. Blessing (R-Cincinnati) and Liston (D-Columbus) have filed SB 396, just to open the dialogue, even if it doesn't pass as soon as we hope. Details in Cleveland Com here.

Now, why, someone will ask, would Ohioans abroad care about child care back home? Think: The young ones who went back to university, met, married and have kids now, still in Ohio. Think: Easing your guilt re that brother or sister who's shouldered the care for your parents while you're overseas. Think: the business you have a stake in that could benefit from satisfied employees attracted to Ohio by sensible support for workers. This is one we'll all benefit from.
