Many states allow fax and emailed ballot returns. Please read all of your ballot instructions, check the map, and confirm with your state guide before sending.
Five states — AK, CA, FL, LA, and OK — allow overseas voters to return ballots by fax. Louisiana voters must email their local election office for permission to fax ballots home. Some voters will receive an oath or certification. Some may have a cover letter. Please fax/email all materials with your ballot and FWABs.
1️⃣ Photograph or scan your ballot and any required materials as an email attachment. Please include the cover letter provided by your election clerk, or add this cover letter: fvap.gov/uploads/FVAP/Forms/coversheet.pdf.
2️⃣ Faxing doesn’t require a machine - it’s now an upload/email!
📲 There are several commercial services available, with free or inexpensive paid options. Search for internet-based services, like HelloFax, FaxZero, eFax, or FaxPlus. Alternatively, use a fax app. Search your app store for options. CocoFax, RingCentral, and GeniusFax are a few popular choices.
