This June 14, Donald Trump wants to spend $45M on a military parade for his birthday in the streets of Washington, DC. Everywhere else, Americans are taking to the streetsto say that our democracy doesn't have room for kings, crowns, or authoritarians.
That includes Americans in Bern! In our host country, June 14 is an important day for Swiss women and democracy. It marks June 14, 1991 (the day Swiss women held the first national strike since 1918), ten years after equality of the sexes was written into their federal constitution. That's why we're showing up, alongside Swiss women in solidarity in their fight, to stand for democracy everywhere and reject corrupt, authoritarian politics in the US.
