Global Presidential Primary and Family Day in Joburg

VOTE! CAST YOUR BALLOT for your preferred candidate for the Democratic Nomination for President at the Global Presidential Primary Voting Centre in Johannesburg (Sunninghill) on Sunday 10 March 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. 

This will also serve as a Democrats Abroad (DASA) Family Day get together. More details to follow but you’re welcome to pass by quickly to vote and/or request your 2024 absentee ballots or spend the afternoon and get to know other members. We request that you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

The 2024 Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary runs from 5-12 March 2024.

➡️Vote in-person at our Voting Centre, or remotely via email, mail, or fax.*

➡️Ballots for remote voting will be available from February 13th.**

➡️New members must register to vote in the Global Primary by joining Democrats Abroad at democratsabroad.org/join.

To join Democrats Abroad, you must be a US citizen abroad, and 18 years of age as of 5 November 2024.

** Same-day registration allowed at Voting Centre with ID.
** Please do not bring downloaded remote ballots to the voting centre. They will not be accepted. We will have ballots available.

NOTE: This is a primary for President only. To vote in local primary races in the U.S., you still need to request a ballot from your state. If you do, leave the choice of presidential nominee blank. Don’t vote twice!

FAMILY DAY

• Americans living in Gauteng are invited to come through on Sunday 10 March to join Democrats Abroad, request your 2024 overseas ballots, vote in the Presidential Primary and get to know other US voters in SA. 
  
  
• We'll order pizza (at least for those who RSVP in advance).
• Please bring drinks and snacks or desserts to share. 
• There are shops and takeaways nearby. There are also braai stands available if you'd like to bring your own braai supplies and tools.
• Activities for kids and swimming pool 

Invite other US citizens - This is a great opportunity to ask Americans you know if they vote in US elections and if they'd like to be involved with Democrats Abroad. Bring them along. 

Participation in Family Day activities is at your own risk.
