UK Political Book Club - Enshittification by Cory Doctorow
On Tuesday January 20 we'll meet on Zoom to discuss Enshittification: Why Everything Suddenly Got Worse and What to Do About It by Cory Doctorow. Word of the Year 2023, enshittification captures how internet platforms like Facebook and X, and indeed, everything -- is getting worse. Deliberately, as these companies attract, then abuse, then extract all value from their users and customers. Cory Doctorow shows how they do this, why, free of any restraints. And how we can fight back. "Decisions we can reverse and people whose names and pitchfork sizes we can learn."
