🏳️🌈 Democrats Abroad had an amazing time celebrating Vancouver Pride! 🏳️🌈
In July and August, we had the wonderful opportunity to hold a Pride Social & Voter Registration event and once again march in the Vancouver Pride Parade!
July 26th - Pride Social
Our Pride Social & Voter Registration event was a first time offering and one that we expect to hold again next year. It was a nice, relaxed gathering which helped people register to vote, brought in new members, and highlighted the thoughtful, friendly community nature of Democrats Abroad.
August 2nd - Pride Parade
The Vancouver Pride Parade was our marquee event of the summer. We thoroughly appreciated the enthusiastic welcome from the Vancouver public and are so grateful for all the people who joined us to march. We had 32 people on our team this year (up from 19 in 2025) and some DA members/allies even joined us while the parade was in progress!
Beyond showing our support for the 2SLGBTQAI+ community, we were able to share a lot of useful (and fun) material with supporters in the crowd:
- 400+ Pride Vote From Abroad / DA Event postcards and business cards
- 250+ Pride Vote From Abroad / Join DA Stickers
- 300 Pride Bracelets
- 2500+ Individually Wrapped Candies
- 4000 Pride Stickers
During the course of the parade, we encountered so many Americans that showed interest in Democrats Abroad and were excited about registering to vote in the upcoming election - it was genuinely heartwarming and showed how we can make a positive difference in U.S. elections.
Thank you to our team and especially those who were able to so wonderfully connect with the parade viewers and share important materials on how US citizens can vote from abroad. Keep an eye out for more ways to stay connected with the Democrats Abroad community and to support voting from abroad!
