In-Person U.S. Voter Assistance
The Lake Chapala Get Out The Vote (GOTV) team will be offering in-person voter assistance daily, except Sunday, from Monday, September 21 to Tuesday, September 29, 10am to 1pm at the Lake Chapala Society. All voters who requested overseas absentee ballots should have received them by email on or before September 19. Priority will be given to voters from mail-only ballot return states (check at VoteFromAbroad.org/states) who requested their ballots but did not get them. All required health protocols must be followed on the LCS campus.
U.S. Voter Assistance by Zoom
Vote From Abroad (VFA) has scheduled supplementary live U.S. voter assistance sessions via Zoom to meet demand. Now, in addition to Sundays, sessions will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 4pm Eastern Daylight Time. The next Sunday session is September 20, from midnight to midnight EDT. New York nurse Patricia Green shares her experiences of volunteering on three continents, initially knowing absolutely no one in the countries in which she served, gradually making lasting friendships extending through five continents, and eventually “coming home” to the small rural village of Cofradía de Suchitlán in central Mexico where she now lives.
