THE RIVIERA CHAPTER of DEMOCRATS ABROAD FRANCE invites you to join us at the Carnaval de Nice in February 2025 for a two-day experience carefully designed by locals. Our carnaval is one of the world's major and oldest carnival events, alongside Brazil, Venice, and Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

When: Valentines Weekend - Friday February 14 and Saturday February 15
What: An enchanting and joyous weekend in the heart of the French Riviera, curated to ensure you experience the best of Carnaval and Nice. Our weekend includes a Friday night mixer with a rooftop view of Nice’s beautiful architecture, a walking tour of Nice’s most famous neighborhood with a local historian, a wine tasting and sommelier presentation featuring local wines, and—the pièce de résistance—the dazzling and unforgettable opening parade of Carnaval 2025!
Friday Night: Cocktail Mixer (February 14)
Kick off the festivities with a cocktail mixer: Sip on a signature cocktail, nibble on snacks, mingle with fellow Democrats Abroad members, and let the excitement build!
Saturday Morning: Historic Nice Tour (February 15)
Explore the charming streets of Old Nice with an experienced guide and renowned local historian. Stroll centuries-old alleyways revealing hidden gems and fascinating history. Don’t forget your camera - the views are postcard-perfect.
Saturday Afternoon: Wine Tasting (February 15)
A local wine expert will host us as we taste exquisite wines produced here in the Nice region. From delicate rosés to robust reds, you’ll discover the true essence of the region in every sip. An array of Nicoise spécialités will accompany this sensory adventure.
Saturday Night: Opening Night Spectacle, Carnaval de Nice (February 15)
The highlight of our weekend awaits! From our assigned seats in the grandstands, witness the opening ceremonies of the Nice Carnaval. This dazzling parade features massive, vibrant floats, masked performers, and music filling the air—it’s pure magic. Complete weekend package: $195 per person
Proceeds will benefit Democrats Abroad France’s efforts to help US citizens living abroad vote and support democracy.
