2025 DAJ Elections and Bylaws Townhall
Open Call for Candidate Nominations!
Democrats Abroad Japan is looking for motivated individuals to fill key positions at both the national and local levels in Japan. We invite you to join us on March 15th at 11am for an informational session where we will cover:
- How to run for office or nominate another member
- The election schedule
- Available positions
- How you can lead and make a meaningful difference
Members of the DAJ National Nominations and Elections Committee (NEC), including Anna Costello (Chair), Celia Mazy (Secretary), and Jessica Awanohara, will be available to answer any election-related questions.
Open discussion about changes to the DA Bylaws!
This will be followed by a discussion lead by the DAJ Bylaws Committee — Sarajean Rossitto, Jacob Kidd, and Patrick Schumacher - that has been reviewing the bylaws. They will share important proposed changes to DAJ’s Bylaws and get your feedback on proposed changes. So very important for the future of the organization, because the bylaws govern how DAJ’s elected and appointed officials conduct business Your input is critical before elections, and we encourage you to participate!
A draft with proposed changes is HERE for your review.
Key Dates:
- March 15th: Town Hall meeting to discuss running for office and proposed bylaw changes
- March 29th - Proposed ByLaw changes sent to the membership
- April 19th: AGM presentation of the final bylaws
- May 17th: Voting on amendments concludes (voting period May 1- May17 )
You are DA Japan - your feedback is essential, so don’t miss this opportunity to contribute!
We look forward to engaging with members at the Town Hall and working together to make a difference!
