Democrats Abroad is now a group member of State Department Federal Credit Union (SDFCU), providing eligible Democrats Abroad members with a pathway to apply for SDFCU membership. SDFCU is a U.S.-based federal credit union with extensive experience serving members who live and work around the world.
Democrats Abroad is now the first and only American abroad organization that is both free to join and free to open a U.S. bank account with SDFCU. If you are not yet a Democrats Abroad member, you can join for free by clicking here.
This webinar is for Democrats abroad members who:
Have had difficulty opening or keeping a U.S. bank account because they live overseas
Want a U.S. checking or savings account that can accommodate an international address and phone number
Need an easier way to move money between the United States and the country where they live
Want access to a U.S. debit or credit card while living abroad
Want to understand how they are eligible to join SDFCU through Democrats Abroad
Already have U.S. banking arrangements but want to know what other options are available
Want to learn about options available for family members
The webinar will cover:
Opening and maintaining a U.S. account from abroad
How Democrats Abroad members may qualify to apply for SDFCU membership
Using a foreign residential address and international phone number
Checking and savings account options available to members
Managing your money internationally
How to access and manage your accounts from overseas
Moving money between your U.S. account and accounts in other countries
International transfers through SDFCU’s integrated Wise service
Sending money in multiple currencies and making international payments
Using debit cards, digital wallets, and other banking services while abroad
