Introducing the Berlin Chapter Board for 2023-2024

The Berlin chapter of Democrats Abroad Germany elected its new board in March 2023 for a two-year term. With important elections in key states in 2023 and the presidential election in 2024, we look forward to mobilizing Americans living in Berlin to get out and vote!

BOARD INTRODUCTIONS

Chair: Constance Chucholowski

Hometown: San Diego, California

Voting State: Wisconsin

What brought you to Germany? I moved to Berlin for a job in 2014.

If you were president, what would be the first bill you'd like to sign into law? I’d ban assault rifles and prohibit the death penalty, nation-wide immediately.

Vice-Chair: Cameron Spector

Hometown: Fair Haven, New Jersey

Voting State: I still vote in the State of New Jersey

What brought you to Germany? Being half German, I wanted to study somewhere new and not be in debt due to college tuition, so I moved to Potsdam towards the end of 2019 and have lived there now for over three years.

If you were president, what would be the first bill you'd like to sign into law? If I were president I would enact the Green New Deal proposed by Representative Ocasio- Cortez and Senator Markey as it is the bill package that could help the generation progress into the 21st century.

GOTV Coordinator: Tsesa Monaghan

Hometown: Portland, Maine and Mankato, Minnesota

Voting State: I vote in Minnesota!

What brought you to Germany? After studying abroad here over a decade ago, I made it my life goal to come back. I've now been living here for over six years and work in German politics.

If you were president, what would be the first bill you'd like to sign into law? My serious answer would be codifying the right to an abortion across the country. My non-serious answer would be making my birthday a national holiday :-)

Volunteer Coordinator: Amanda Majorowicz

Hometown: North Branch, Minnesota

Voting State: Wisconsin

What brought you to Germany? I had a summer journalism internship in 2012 at the Freie Universität / working at the Märkische Oderzeitung - I fell in love with living abroad and the city, so I moved back long-term the following summer!

If you were president, what would be the first bill you'd like to sign into law? I agree with everything the others have said! Banning assault weapons and securing the right to safe abortions nationwide would be things I immediately support, along with long term solutions and structure to rectify climate change.
