The Senate is about to vote on a stopgap budget bill that gives Republicans a pass on negotiating a real budget and fails to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. This bill is a dangerous step backward—it’s a blank check for Elon Musk and a threat to vital programs that millions of Americans rely on.

What’s cloture? It’s a procedure to end debate in the Senate. If 60 senators vote for cloture, debate is cut off, and the bill moves to a final vote—where it can and would pass with a simple majority. Don’t let this happen.

This bill will embolden Trump and Musk to continue tearing down government services, closing Social Security offices, illegally withholding funds, illegally seizing more and more authority from Congress.

The filibuster is the only way to stop it. Senator Schumer has said he won’t use it—call your senators now and tell them to demand he does.
