Displayed in the four images below is a poem written by Democrats Abroad member Isa Kocher, a New York voter. Since Isa’s service in uniform decades ago, he has embraced his military experience – and that of his time dealing with various components of the Department of Veterans Affairs – to author a countless number of poems, many of which are from the personal veteran perspective. As a disabled veteran who served during the intense days of the Cold War, Isa has since had good days and bad days, experienced homelessness, dealt with mental health issues, been discriminated again, and more. His ability to put pen to paper has made VMF greatly appreciate the raw emotions he is somehow able to convey in written format. Isa’s most recent poem shown below is titled, “Veterans Days,” and was written in September 2025. Large text format here.
