Time is Running Out!
Call Your Senators Today!
The SAVE America Act is now before the Senate, where the decision will determine whether new federal barriers to voter registration and ballot access become law. Senators are hearing from constituents now. Make sure they hear from you.
This is the moment to speak up before the vote moves forward - even if you have already called and written on this subject! It's the volume and persistence of the contact from constituents on an issue that can sway a Member of Congress's position on a bill or policy.
Call Today
You can find the contact information for your Senators here: U.S. Senate or call the Capitol Switchboard: +1 202 224 3121
You can also use the script on 5calls.org Oppose the SAVE America Act ⭑ 5 Calls
Ask for your Senator’s office and say:
I am your constituent and a U.S. citizen living abroad. I vote in [City, Zip Code]. I am calling to urge Senator [Name] to vote NO on the SAVE America Act. Please protect access to the ballot for Americans at home and abroad.
Ask how the Senator plans to vote.
Then call your other Senator.
Follow Up With an Email
After you call, send a short follow-up email reinforcing your message. Identify yourself as a constituent living abroad. Ask for a clear commitment to vote NO.
Calls register urgency. Emails create a written record. Do both.
Feel free to use these ready-made templates: Write to your Democratic Senator or Write to your Republican Senator and write to Minority Leader Schumer
Why This Matters
The SAVE America Act would require in‑person voter registration with documentary proof of citizenship even for overseas citizens, as well as force many already‑registered overseas voters into an in‑person or paper‑documentation process just to request their overseas ballots, even if they are still on the rolls. This would effectively disenfranchise the majority of US citizens living, serving or studying abroad.
In other words, most of us would be either disenfranchised or face extreme barriers to get our ballots counted.
This affects us all directly.
The Senate vote is approaching. Do not wait.
“You may delay, but time will not.”
