Democracy Dinner

We hemmed and hawed over whether to hold another Democracy Dinner or simply call our Election Breakfast celebrations complete. But with so much happening in this election, we decided there was too much to celebrate, discuss, and remember to let the moment pass!

We're still waiting for some important races to be officially called, including Senator-elect Colom, who could become Mississippi's second Black U.S. Senator, and Alaska's Mary Peltola, whose political journey has been historic as the first Alaska Native woman elected to Congress.

This election has brought us a remarkable number of firsts, along with some exciting political developments worth celebrating and examining.

We also realized that the people who join us for Thanksgiving aren't necessarily the same people who come to our Democracy Dinners. We want everyone in our community to have an opportunity to come together, reflect on the results, share their thoughts, and celebrate this important election outcome.
